Ryanair flies 200m passengers in a year

Ryanair has set a new milestone in European aviation, becoming the first airline in the region to carry over 200 million passengers in a single year.

The low-cost carrier transported 200.2 million travellers in its fiscal year ending March 2024, in line with forecasts.

The airline saw a particularly strong March, flying 15 million passengers – an increase of 10% compared to the same month last year. Ryanair had projected nearly 200 million passengers for the year back in January, reflecting a 9% annual growth.

Despite this achievement, Ryanair has revised its expectations for the coming year due to ongoing aircraft delivery delays from Boeing.

In January, the airline reduced its forecast for the 2025 fiscal year for the second time in three months, lowering its target from 210 million to 206 million passengers.

The delays have posed challenges for Ryanair’s expansion plans, but the airline continues to dominate Europe’s low-cost travel market with record-breaking passenger numbers.
