With Flydubai marking its 15th anniversary this year, the hybrid carrier’s new lounge underscores its commitment to meeting the demands of both its business class passengers as well as its low-cost travellers.

Capable of accommodating more than 200 passengers, the contemporary 900 square metre lounge is in Terminal 2’s departure area with the airline’s business class boarding gate also conveniently located within the lounge. Inspired by the beauty and light of the desert dunes, the lounge incorporates plenty of natural light and uninterrupted views over the tarmac. It also features  dining and lounging options, as well as a quiet space for relaxation, showers, a prayer room, workstations and multiple charging stations.

Hamad Obaidalla, chief commercial officer at flydubai, said: “We remain committed to constantly evolving and investing in enhancing customer experience whether in the air or on the ground. The new lounge will provide an enjoyable and seamless travel experience for our Business Class passengers from Terminal 2 in Dubai.”

With the new lounge opening just in time for the busy holiday period, Mohamed Hassan, senior vice president of airport services and cargo at Flydubai, added that the lounges are a “key component for the seamless and comfortable travel experience” the airline aims to provide to customers. “The new Flydubai Business Class Lounge and boarding gate provide added convenience to our passengers who are looking for a more personalised and efficient travel experience, whether they are travelling for business or leisure.”

The unveiling of the new lounge follows the airline’s opening of its dedicated business class check-in facility at Dubai International.  The airline also launched a multimillion dollar retrofit programme earlier this year, which has already seen 15 of its Boeing 737-800 aircraft undergo a cabin upgrade and now featuring the airline’s flagship lie-flat seats in business class. The retrofit programme will continue into 2025 as the airline completes the retrofit on up to 20 aircraft in its fleet,
