Saudia unveils special livery for National Day

September 10, 2024

Saudia is to fly one of its Dreamliner aircraft is a striking new livery to celebrate the Kingdom’s 94th National Day. Boeing 787-9 HZ-ARB was repainted at Teruel in Aragon, in eastern Spain, from 22 August 2024. This isn’t the first Saudia aircraft to receive a special livery for National Day. In 2016, Airbus A330-300 HZ-AQE was painted in a new livery that it still wears today.
The airline is also running a ‘buy one get one free’ offer on round trip tickets from Kuwait, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Amman, Cairo and Istanbul to Jeddah, Riyadh, and Madinah, for tickets issued between 1 and 14 September, for inbound travel between 18-21 September and outbound travel between 22-30 September.
It is only one year ago, in September 2023, that Saudia introduced a new brand identity and livery representing “the airline’s goals and Saudi Arabia’s culture.”
Green was said to represent the national flag, Saudi Arabia’s generosity, culture, and hospitality, while blue represents Saudi Arabia’s seas and skies, while sand and alulā (a
vibrant tan) was said to represent progress and to pay homage to the desert.
Saudia’s new identity was intended to be part of a digital transformation plan that supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to modernize the country’s economy, under which the airline also introduced a generative Artificial Intelligence virtual assistant to improve the customer experience.
Saudia also has two special retro liveries applied to Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, introduced in 2021.
