Skytrans takes first Airbus A319
December 18, 2024
Skytrans, the Australian regional airline, has welcomed its first Airbus A319, marking a pivotal step in the company’s strategy to expand its fleet and enhance its ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) services.
The aircraft arrived in Brisbane on December 15 after a journey from Kaunas, Lithuania, which included technical stops in the UAE, Sri Lanka, and Bali.
The addition of the A319 is part of an ambitious fleet expansion plan that will see Skytrans introduce several more Airbus aircraft in 2024.
The move is designed to meet the increasing demand for flexible and reliable passenger, cargo, and business aviation services across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
Skytrans’ development aligns with its integration into Avia Solutions Group, the world’s largest ACMI provider, which it joined at the start of 2024. As the first Australian ACMI provider within the group and an Australian Air Operator Certificate (AOC) holder, Skytrans brings a unique regional presence to Avia Solutions Group.
“The arrival of our first Airbus A319 marks an exciting new chapter for Skytrans. This expansion strengthens our position as a trusted provider of ACMI services and shows that we’re ready to meet a wide variety of clients’ needs. We’re focused on growth, innovation, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and reliability, and we look forward to further augmentation of our fleet,” said Skytrans CEO Alan Milne.
