Fuji Dream Airlines signs for two additional Embraer E175 regional aircraft at Farnborough
On July 21, Embraer announced at the Farnborough International Airshow that the privately-owned Japanese carrier Fuji Dream Airlines (FDA) had placed a firm order for two additional E175 regional jet aircraft.
The new additions will join FDA’s current fleet of 15 Embraer E170/E175 regional jets operated from its main base at Shizuoka Airport (FSZ) to points across Japan. The order was previously undisclosed and is already reflected in Embraer’s backlog order figures.
FDA orders two more Embraer E175 regional jets
According to a statement issued by Embraer, FDA’s new E175 aircraft will be configured in a single-class 84-seat layout, with deliveries of the new aircraft scheduled for between 2027 and 2028.
The planemaker added that the E175’s “proven performance on high-frequency operations and shorter routes makes it a leading choice for airlines like FDA as they continue to develop their regional networks.”
Speaking about the order for two new planes, Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, said that Fuji Dream Airlines’ outstanding operations and its team’s relentless pursuit of excellence had greatly contributed to Japan’s regional aviation sector.
He added that the E175’s ability to deliver a high standard of reliability, performance, efficiency and passenger comfort made it the ideal choice for FDA. “We are honoured to be a partner in FDA’s growth and will continue to deliver exceptional value to the airline,” Meyer concluded.
Meanwhile, Shunsuke Honda, President of Fuji Dream Airlines, said, “The introduction of these new aircraft will enhance our capacity and help further strengthen our network connecting communities across Japan.”

Who is Fuji Dream Airlines?
Fuji Dream Airlines (FDA) was established in 2008 as the aviation business of the Suzuyo Group and operates as a regional airline connecting communities across Japan.
Today, FDA operates a network of 29 routes serving 17 airports nationwide, with major bases at Shizuoka, Nagoya (Komaki), Matsumoto, and Fukuoka airports.
