Leading African carrier, Ethiopian Airlines is celebrating its 10th dedicated cargo destination in China having launched a link with Macau.

The new service which was announced on Thursday 3 April is expected to strengthen trade links, providing efficient air logistics between China, Africa, Europe and beyond.

“This new route strengthens oure presence in the Greater Bay Area, providing efficient air logistics for China-Europe and China-Africa trade,” said Aman Wole, Country Director, Mainland China and Mongolia at Ethiopian Airlines, speaking on social media platform Linkedin. “With twice weekly flights and 400 tonnes of weekly capacity, we continue to expand our global network to meet the growing demand for cross-border e-commerce,” he continued.

The airline has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Macau International Airport, becoming the first airline partner at the Hengqin Remote Cargo Terminal – another step in its commitment to innovation and connectivity.

With two weekly flights and a capacity of 400 tonnes per week, this expansion underscores Ethiopian Airline’s commitment to efficient, reliable and seamless global trade,” the airline said on the social media platform X. “As Africa’s largest airline, we continue to invest in strategic routes that drive economic growth and foster strong partnerships.”
