Delta Air Lines has inaugurated a new state-of-the-art pilot training facility near Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC).

The opening marks Delta’s first major training facility investment outside its Atlanta headquarters, which established its initial pilot training centre in 1968.

The new facility will enhance Delta’s pilot training capacity and provide a more convenient location for pilots based in its western hubs.

Thousands of pilots are expected to travel to Salt Lake City annually for extended training sessions, boosting the local economy.

In addition to the pilot training centre, Delta maintains extensive flight attendant training facilities in Salt Lake City, supporting thousands of training events each year.

Delta is the largest premium carrier at SLC, operating more flights than all other airlines combined, with 240 peak-day flights to nearly 90 destinations worldwide, including Amsterdam, London, Paris, and its newly announced nonstop service to Seoul, launching on 12 June 2025.
