Located at Al Bateen Executive Airport in Abu Dhabi, the Canadian OEM’s new service facility is expected to be complete and operational by the end of 2026.

Originally due to be built at Abu Dhabi International Airport when it was first announced in 2022, Bombardier’s 120,000 square foot service facility will now be constructed 12km southeast of the city centre at Al Bateen Executive Airport with work expected to start by the end of June, this year. Alongside a 55,000 square foot hangar, it will also feature a parts depot and will offer a suite of maintenance services as well as aircraft modification and aircraft on ground capabilities.

Catering for the region’s growing business aviation customer base, the facility will be an important hub for Bombardier business aircraft in the Middle East. It will accommodate the OEM’s Learjet, Challenger and Global aircraft families, including the Global 7500 aircraft, as well as the upcoming  Bombardier Global 8000 which is on track to enter service later this year. It will also complement Bombardier’s existing service footprint in the UAE with Bombardier’s Dubai Line Maintenance station.

Commenting on the new location, Paul Sislian, EVP Aftermarket Services and Strategy at Bombardier said it is “strategically aligned with all our aftermarket priorities and perfectly matches the needs of our discerning customer base. Our customers are accustomed to receiving an exceptional service experience wherever they are in the world and this new facility in this dynamic financial hub will ensure they continue to receive the best service experience possible.”

Reiterating that the new facility further affirms’ Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading aviation hub, Elena Sorlini, managing director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports said she was “confident this latest collaboration will drive mutual success for both Bombardier and Abu Dhabi Airports.
