Air France opens new pilot recruitment campaign

June 3, 2025

Air France has opened applications for its latest cadet pilot recruitment drive, offering aspiring recruits a fully-funded pathway to the flight deck.
The programme is accepting applications until 15 July, with successful candidates set to undergo two years of training.
The initiative is designed to attract individuals passionate about aviation, providing both theoretical and hands-on instruction through the airline’s partner flight schools.
Once qualified, cadets will begin their careers as First Officers on Air France’s Airbus A220 or A320, or on Transavia’s Boeing 737 and Airbus A320neo fleet.
“Following a rigorous selection process, candidates will start a 24-month training programme provided by the company’s partner schools. At the end of a challenging course including regular assessments, they will start flying on Air France’s Airbus A220 or A320 or Transavia’s Boeing 737 or Airbus A320neo as First Officers,” the airline said.
Since its relaunch in 2018, over 300 pilots have entered the flight deck at Air France and Transavia through this route. The airline plans to hire nearly 300 pilots in 2025, with recruitment open to both cadets and experienced professionals.
Air France is also using the programme to promote diversity in a profession historically underrepresented by women and minorities.
The scheme is open to all applicants, regardless of age or background.
“Air France is reaffirming its commitment to diversity and equal opportunities. Cadet pilot training is open to everyone, regardless of age or previous flying experience, therefore opening up the pilot profession to people from all backgrounds,” the company said.
“The company is also committed to supporting women in the profession. In 2024, 25% of cadet pilots were women (compared with 9% for the airline as a whole and 5% on average worldwide).”
