Startup Thai cargo carrier Pattaya Airways has received its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), allowing it to commence operations.

“After nine months of relentless effort and dedication, our journey has led to a significant achievement,” wrote Pattaya Airways in a statement, adding that it is “committing to becoming a leader in modern and highly efficient cargo transportation services in ASEAN”.

In June 2024, the airline confirmed it expected to commence commercial operations by mid-August, having previously received its Air Operating License from the regulator. Its second ATR 72-500 freighter joined the fleet in April 2024, with Pattaya Airways expecting to augment its fleet to five aircraft (serving both domestic and international needs) by 2028.
