Transavia gets ready for a big birthday
Transavia was founded on 21 October 1965 as Transavia Holland BV. Since then, Transavia’s mission has always been to keep flying accessible to everyone. Throughout the anniversary year, Transavia plans to celebrate this milestone with passengers, business partners and colleagues, reflecting on the airline’s rich history, while planning for the future.
During the summer of 2025, Transavia will receive a brand new Airbus A321neo in a retro livery. This ‘retrojet’ livery is inspired by the branding designed by Dutch designer Thijs Postma in 1966. He was the creator of the iconic green colour and the large, black T on the fuselage and tail that formed Transavia’s first house style. This style still appeals to the imagination of many colleagues, passengers and business partners, and Transavia hopes that it will look just as good on the new Airbus.
CEO Marcel de Nooijer said that: “Celebrating our 60th anniversary is a moment to reflect on what we have achieved together. The arrival of a new Airbus in retro livery is our way of looking back with pride on what has brought us and where we are now. While at the same time looking ahead to a quieter future thanks to our fleet renewal.”
