Qantas reveals cabin upgrades for A330s

Qantas has announced a major cabin upgrade for its Airbus A330 fleet, focusing on enhanced comfort and technology for economy passengers on international routes to Hong Kong, Singapore, and Tokyo.
As part of this multimillion-dollar refurbishment, Qantas will outfit 10 A330-200 aircraft with new Economy seats designed to support the airline’s upcoming Project Sunrise ultra-long-haul flights.
The revamped seats will feature 13.3-inch 4K OLED entertainment screens—20% larger than the current models—with an upgraded interface, as well as USB-C fast charging ports and Bluetooth audio, allowing passengers to connect their own headphones. In addition to new seating, the cabin will include mood lighting, as well as refreshed carpets and curtains.
Qantas will retain its popular Business Suites with fully-flat beds, identical to those on its A380 and 787 Dreamliner fleet, which continue to receive positive customer feedback.
The refurbishment process will begin in mid-2025 at Qantas’ Brisbane maintenance facility, with the first upgraded A330 entering service by year’s end. The entire programme is expected to be completed by late 2026.
Qantas International CEO Cam Wallace highlighted the investment’s role in enhancing the travel experience for both passengers and crew, as Qantas prepares to welcome additional new aircraft into its international fleet over the next few years.
