Aerospace giant Bombardier has announced plans to expand its London Biggin Hill Service Centre with a brand-new aircraft paint facility, bolstering its presence at the Kent private and general aviation hub.

The new 51,000 sq. ft. facility is set to open in the latter half of 2026, offering a full-service solution for aircraft maintenance and refurbishment.

The two-bay paint facility will create over 50 jobs for technicians, providing services to Bombardier’s Global, Challenger, and Learjet aircraft customers.

This addition complements the existing 250,000 sq. ft. service facility, which already offers scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, modifications, and avionics installations.

Since opening in 2017 and undergoing a major expansion in 2022, the London Biggin Hill Service Centre has become a key part of Bombardier’s global service and support network.

The investment follows Bombardier’s recent initiatives at Biggin Hill, including the 2024 launch of a 700 sq. ft. material lounge in partnership with luxury interiors specialist F/LIST. This lounge provides customers with access to an extensive range of high-quality interior materials.

In addition, Bombardier has installed over 3,000 solar panels on the roof of the service centre. The company also expanded its UK operations last year by establishing a line maintenance station at Farnborough Airport, offering aircraft-on-ground (AOG) support and light maintenance services.

“The addition of the new paint facility at the London Biggin Hill Service Centre is the latest example of how we continue to expand our service offerings for our customers in order to keep their aircraft in the air – and looking good as well,” said Paul Sislian, Executive Vice President, Aftermarket Service & Strategy.

“This expansion perfectly aligns with our objective to ensure customers consistently receive an outstanding customer experience throughout our service centre network, ensuring that their aircraft are always at the ready for important missions.”
