As Aura Aero celebrates its inaugural aircraft delivery, the French clean-sheet aircraft developer has appointed three new European dealers to expand the reach of its all-new Integral R trainer.

French aircraft developer and manufacturer Aura Aero, founded in 2018, has officially introduced its Integral R to the market; commencing deliveries of its inaugural trainer just three months after receiving EASA type certification. According to the manufacturer, the second unit is also “almost ready for delivery”.

The first production unit (pictured above) was delivered to French aerobatics club Dijon Voltige, based in eastern France. “Dijon Voltige has trusted us from the beginning and has supported us throughout the aircraft development process,” said Aura Aero co-founder and CEO Jérémy Caussade, adding: “We are very proud to share with them this key moment in the company’s history”.

After making its first flight in 2020 at the company’s home base of Toulouse-Francazal airport, the culmination of flight testing in December 2024 preceded EASA type certification later that month; making the Integral R Aura Aero’s first aircraft to achieve this all-important accolade. “This Integral R represents much more than an industrial milestone – it’s the culmination of years of advanced engineering, demanding test campaigns, and collective expertise, bringing together our entire team around a shared goal,” explained the Toulouse-based startup. “And this is just the beginning: this first unit marks the official launch of serial production deliveries”.

The two-seat, aerobatically-capable light aircraft is one of three in a clean-sheet family of trainers; joining a tricycle-configured S variant (also employing a Lycoming engine) and an all-electric E (powered by a Safran ENGINeUS electric motor). The Integral S is awaiting EASA certification later this year, while the E (available in either tailwheel or nosewheel configuration) is expecting EASA certification and first deliveries in Q4 2026.

The company’s regional hybrid-electric airliner concept, the 19-seat ‘ERA’, is also expected to enter commercial service by the end of the decade; already boasting an order book of over 600 Letters of Intent.

Additionally, Aura Aero’s agreements with three new European distributors (signed during last week’s Aero Friedrichshafen event) will “considerably expand its reach and strengthen its position” regarding both families of aircraft, Aura Aero explained. Leveraging these “established players’… vast experience selling and supporting aircraft in their markets,” the new partnerships will “considerably help develop our customer base,” commented Aura Aero chief commercial officer Drew McEwen. The new dealers include Denmark-based European Aircraft Sales, Poland’s JB Investments Ltd and Italy’s B&C SRL.

Also announced at Aero Friedrichshafen, the Agency for Civil Aviation Safety (OSAC) – the exclusive body responsible for airworthiness safety in France – has also issued Aura Aero with a finalised Production Organization Agreement (POA) for the entire Integral family, with a Rating A. “All the conditions are now in place for series production of our Integral aircraft,” confirmed Caussade. “2025 will mark the culmination of seven years’ hard work, to make our vision of tomorrow’s aviation a reality!”
