Latvian airline airBaltic has concluded its ACMI-in (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) leasing operations as it transitions to its winter schedule.

The ACMI-in arrangement, which involved leasing aircraft from other airlines to meet heightened summer demand and mitigate supply chain challenges related to engine maintenance, was a short-term solution to ensure operational continuity during peak months.

With the shift back to winter operations, passengers can expect a more consistent experience as airBaltic resumes flying exclusively with its Airbus A220-300 fleet.

The airline is also preparing to welcome its 49th A220-300, with airBaltic’s long-term strategy to grow its fleet to as many as 100 A220s by 2030.

Martin Gauss, CEO and president of airBaltic, said: “Our adaptability this past summer allowed us to maintain all planned operations despite external challenges.

“Our first priority is always to deliver the best customer experience through focusing solely on our Airbus A220-300 fleet, while we have sufficient aircraft availability, and we’re committed to expanding and strengthening our fleet to support the growing demand for air travel from our passengers.

“I want to thank our passengers for their patience and understanding, as these temporary operations were part of our efforts to ensure reliable connectivity.”
