Tecnam, in partnership with its local dealer Oriens Aviation, has confirmed a purchase agreement for 14 Tecnam P-Mentor IFR single engine aircraft by UK-based training academy, Aeros.
Designed as a primary training platform, the two-seat P-Mentor will support Aeros in providing ab-initio and modular training for students pursuing private pilot licences and multiple pilot licences. “We set up a steering group of five senior engineers, managers and instructors to evaluate the three leading two-seater trainers currently available in the market,” explained Nick Dunn, CEO at Aeros. “Tecnam came out on top in terms of quality, cost and after sales service,” he continued.
The P-Mentor is fully compliant with the latest CS-23 EASA and FAA requirements. The single engine piston aircraft is fully IFR capable and boasts a maximum range of 950nm and a cruising speed of 217km/h. Its exceptional safety record, low CO2 emissions and efficient fuel consumption have made the aircraft type a popular choice for students and flight schools alike.
Aeros decision to expand its fleet with the Tecnam P-Mentor “underscores its commitment to providing student pilots with the most advanced, safe and efficient training aircraft available today,” added Pasquale De Rosa, Techam’s sales manager, Europe.
“As the global leader in flight training solutions, and together with Oriens Aviation, Tecnam Dealer for the UK and Ireland, we look forward to working together with Aeros to ensure that it is a great success.”
Aeros, which has bases in Cardiff, Coventry, Gloucester, Wellesbourne and Doncaster, is anticipating delivery of the first six aircraft in 2025. It currently operates a fleet of Diamond, Alsim, Piper and Cessna aircraft.
