Having announced last year an order for 27 REGENT Viceroy seagliders, UrbanLink Air Mobility has now increased its order for up to 47 of the gliders.

The order, for which initial deliveries are anticipated in 2027, marks one of the largest commercial seaglider orders to date and will support the rapid roll out of UrbankLink’s operations across South Florida and Puerto Rico.

A novel all-electric high-speed vessel that operates exclusively over water to connect coastal communities, Viceroy is REGENT’s flagship seaglider. The 12-passenger vessel, will travel at up to 180mph, servicing routes up to 180 miles on a single charge.

Billy Thalheimer, co-founder and CEO of REGENT commented: “UrbanLink’s expanded order is a clear vote of confidence in REGENT’s seaglider technology and is testament to our continued timely execution certification and product development milestones.”

REGENT is on track to fly a full-scale version of its seaglider this summer, when it will become the largest electric vehicle to ever fly.

With its expanded fleet of seagliders, UrbanLink will offer high-frequency services across some of the most heavily trafficked short-haul routes in the US with seaglider operations in Miami alone offering the potential to serve up to 4.3 million passengers each year.

In addition to drastically reducing travel times e.g. Miam to West Palm Beach in 35 minutes, electric seagliders will also offer a more sustainable transportation alternatives in addition to lower operating and infrastructure costs thatn traditional aircraft or ferries.
