Singapore and Malaysia deploy aircraft to assist Philippine HADR ops

The Philippine Air Force’s ongoing Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) operations are being augmented by a Singaporean C-130 and a Malaysian Super Puma.

On 26 October 2024, the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) deployed a Lockheed C-130 cargo aircraft and the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) deployed a Eurocopter EC725 transport helicopter to Col Jesus Villamor Air Base in Pasay City in the Philippines.

These aircraft are set to play a crucial role in bolstering the Philippine Air Force’s ongoing Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) operations in areas affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.

The aircraft were greeted by Sec. Gilberto C. Teodoro Jr., Secretary of National Defence; His Excellency Dato Abd Malik Castelino, Malaysian Ambassador; Her Excellency Constance See, Singapore Ambassador; Lt Gen Stephen P Parreño Commanding General of the Philippine Air Force; Major General Aristotle D Gonzalez PAF Chief of Air Staff; Major Gen Pablo E Rustria Jr, Commander, Air Installation and Base Development Command, PAF; Colonel Geajaindren Mariapan, Singapore Defence Attache; Col Jafri Zuluyadai-DAFAR and representatives from the Office Of Civil Defence.
