Japanese Airlines (JAL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the procurement of SAF with Raven, a provider of renewable fuel from waste, and ITOCHU.

The agreement will lead to the achievement of the SAF utilisation targets to replace 1% of the whole fuel amount to SAF by 2025 and 10% by 2030.

Promoting carbon neutrality in aviation

The airline said it will continue to contribute to the popularisation and market expansion of SAF and promote carbon neutrality in aviation by demonstrating the need for SAF produced from a variety of feedstocks, including used cooking oil, tallow, and biomass, as well as waste products.
