Happy National Aviation Day!
August 19 has been celebrated primarily in the US but increasingly around the world as National Aviation Day since 1939, when a presidential proclamation was made by Franklin D Roosevelt.
The date was chosen to mark the birthday of Orville Wright, one of the two Wright brothers hailed as aviation pioneers for their flying invention.
Nowadays, the celebration raises awareness about the importance of aviation in everyone’s lives.
