Farnborough International Airshow set for spectacular show
Ahead of the upcoming 2024 Farnborough International Airshow – set to take off in a matter of days against Hampshire’s iconic backdrop – the internationally acclaimed event is once again set to bring together the best in aerospace advancement.
A name synonymous with aviation technology, development and collaboration, the show has been host to many innovative developments over the years – and this July’s event is no exception. Bringing together global aerospace and defence leaders, government representatives and industry innovators, the five-day event represents an unparalleled opportunity to exchange information, do deals and cement future partnerships.
With exhibition space sold out and a multitude of chalets, pavilions and other infrastructure installed on site, gates to the main show open on Monday – with Pioneers of Tomorrow welcoming visitors on Friday.
Aircraft in attendance
Since the show’s initial iteration in 1948, Farnborough International Airshow has prided itself on the breadth and variety of aircraft attending the show. The presence of aircraft normally only seen from afar – including the opportunity to see military participants – includes those in the static display lineup and the daily flying display.
Highlights of this year’s static display include the debut of Embraer’s E-Freighter, Windracers Ultra-UAV, the newly-unveiled Airbus Wingman model, and several eVTOL platforms. Meanwhile, Turkish Aerospace Industries’ Gökbey helicopter will make its international airshow debut, with the Boeing F-15QA, Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II and F-16 all guaranteed to bring the noise.
Aerospace Global Forum
A new event showpiece created by Farnborough International and ADS Group, the Aerospace Global Forum will “provide a unique and truly world-class forum for industry leaders and the wider ecosystem to engage in inspiring discussions around innovation, sustainability, future workforce and much more,” explains ADS.
Following the FIA 2024 opening ceremony, the ensuing Airline Leaders Summit will welcome an elite gathering of high-level airline leaders and regulators. Among this year’s headline AGF speakers are Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury and IAG managing director Luis Gallego.
Space Zone Theatre
Located in one site’s state-of-the-art sound stages, the Space Zone Theatre has proved increasingly popular in recent years, being the first exhibition space to sell out this year. Featuring exhibitors from a variety of space-focused companies and Space Agencies from around the globe, the venue also includes a dedicated Space Theatre.
Building on the increasing interest in the Space Zone from emerging and existing industry players, the Farnborough International Space Show will also take place between 19-20 March 2025.
