Watch: Embraer projects E2 jet onto Christ the Redeemer ahead of IATA AGM
Embraer has projected its E2 commercial jet onto Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, marking the opening of the 82nd International Air Transport Association (IATA) Annual General Meeting.
The display took place on June 5, 2026, on the eve of the IATA AGM, which is being held in Rio de Janeiro from June 6 to 8. The event brings together airline leaders, manufacturers, policymakers and aviation industry representatives from around the world.

Projected onto one of Brazil’s most recognisable landmarks, the E2 display was intended to celebrate Brazilian aerospace innovation while welcoming global aviation leaders to the country.

The projection lit up the Christ the Redeemer monument on Corcovado Hill with images linked to Embraer’s commercial aviation technology and sustainability ambitions.
Embraer said the initiative reflected its commitment to “increasingly innovative, efficient, safe, and sustainable aviation”, with the company using the moment to place its E2 family centre stage during one of the global airline industry’s most important annual gatherings.
Francisco Gomes Neto, CEO of Embraer, said: “Air transport is one of the pillars of the modern world, with a direct impact on the economy, society, and global integration. Carrying out this projection on one of the Seven Wonders of the World, which embodies Brazil’s identity, hospitality, and international image, is a source of great pride.”
The E2 family has become central to Embraer’s commercial aircraft strategy, with the Brazilian manufacturer positioning the type as an efficient option for airlines renewing regional and small narrowbody fleets.

In Brazil, Embraer said the aircraft is already supporting fleet renewal at Azul, with LATAM also set to introduce the type.

Embraer said the display was also intended as an invitation for aviation leaders to reflect on the future of air transport and the sector’s role in economic development, tourism and international connectivity.
Part of Embraer’s investment in the projection will be allocated to the Centro de Capacitação Profissional Nossa Senhora da Gratidão, a professional training centre supporting women in situations of social vulnerability.

The centre offers courses, workshops and educational activities designed to support professional qualifications, entrepreneurship, income generation and access to the labour market.
The projection gave Embraer a highly visible moment at the start of the IATA AGM, combining national symbolism, aviation technology and the manufacturer’s push to keep the E2 at the centre of global fleet renewal discussions.
