Bombardier marks milestone with 100th delivery of its Challenger 3500
November 1, 2024
The delivery sets a new standard with Bombardier’s Challenger 3500 the fastest super-midsize business jet to reach 100 deliveries.
The milestone delivery to an unnamed customer was achieved just two years after the Challenger 3500 entered service. Since 2022 it has become a popular choice of aircraft for charter operators and corporations around the world.
The Challenger family has been the best-selling super-midsize platform for the last seven years with the Challenger 3500 recording “an exceptional dispatch reliability of 99.8%,” according to Jean-Christophe Gallagher, executive vice president, aircraft sales and Bombardier Defense.
Boasting a range of 3,400nm and leveraging some of the key features of Bombardier’s Global family, the Challenger 3500 features the OEM’s patented Nuage seat as well as voice-control cabin management, 4k entertainment and wireless chargers. Offering a “remarkable travel experience,” according to Gallagher, the aircraft has a “clear emphasis on comfort and passenger well-being.”
At the beginning of the year Bombardier forecast between 150 and 155 deliveries of its aircraft during 2024. As of the first half of the year, the OEMs delivery numbers and order backlog remained strong. The company’s consistent production across Challenger and Global series jets has kept them aligned with their targets.
