All Nippon Airways (ANA) has been selected by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) as ‘2018 Competitive Information Technology Strategy Company’ in the air transportation category.
METI and TSE selected ANA for three specific initiatives, including the introduction of CEFA AMS (Aviation Mobile Services) among the airlines’ 3,000 pilots.
ANA is the launch customer of CEFA AMS, the first service worldwide enabling pilots to replay their flights on tablets right after landing.
CEFA Aviation launched the app at the Dubai Airshow 2017, and ANA Group has been using it since March 2017. Pilots’ feedback is positive so far – an internal survey found that over 88% of pilots find the app useful for performance review and safety enhancement.
Hideo Morioka, Senior Director Safety Promotion and Flight Data Analysis, ANA, said: “CEFA AMS contributes to the emergence of a new culture of learning and communication.”
Dominique Mineo, CEO & Founder of CEFA Aviation, commented: “We are extremely proud and happy for our faithful customer to receive such a prestigious recognition – and we feel recognised as well.”

The second initiative ANA was chosen for is the development of an e-commerce site that offers traditional handmade Japanese artistic crafts to people around the world. The site was launched in January 2018 in Japanese and ANA HD plans to release the English version this month.
The third recognised initiative was ANA’s efforts in reforming its legacy systems and transforming IT architecture to reduce IT costs. These changes include cloud migration for international systems and virtualised IT infrastructure.
