Supernal’s SA-2 eVTOL concept has made its European debut at Farnborough International Airshow, with the aircraft under development projected to fly in 2026.

The full-scale mockup on display complements the first full-scale vehicle currently undergoing assembly and which will be used for upcoming flight testing. Between 2026 and 2028, Supernal will pursue type certification, alongside working with the general public to boost public perception.

“People will envision how convenient and timesaving this will be,” highlighted CEO of Supernal and President of Hyundai Motor Group Jaiwon Shin, who cautioned against a perceived rush to bring an eVTOL product to market. “We believe in the right product at the right time,” he elaborated.

With Supernal having switched from the building to the implementation phase this year, “we have a very strong workforce – I believe in our people’s capability,” he added, concluding: “We value the public’s trust and confidence in bringing this brand new capability to humanity”.
