Breaking into China is the big ambition for a lot of companies operating in the Asia Pacific area. SR Technics has done just that. We spoke to SR Technics’ Thomas Kennedy.

In November last year, SR Technics achieved its CAAC (Civil Aviation Administration of China) airworthiness certification.

Kennedy said: “This empowers us to have access to the China market and be able to deliver airworthiness to the Chinese standard. [It] should be a good boost for our business within the region and for SR Technics globally.”

Malaysia operations

SR Technics has a facility in Malaysia which is coming up to its four-year anniversary since launch.

Kennedy said: “Today, we’re approaching 800 part numbers on our capability. The facility is fully functional in all pneumatics, hydraulics, fuel, lube product lines and supporting the Airbus single-aisle A320 family, A330, some A340 and Boeing 737.”

He added: “We have about 220 employees supporting there and it serves as a regional control centre for all of our programme customers. Today, SR Technics supports approximately 1,000 aircraft worldwide. All of those customers that are under contract are managed from that facility, and we’ve also relocated our global AOG [Aircraft on Ground] desk, which provides a 24-hour service from our Malaysia facility worldwide.”
