From having been postponed for more than two years , the Global Urban and Advanced Air Summit (GUAAS) brought the industry back together to talk about the developments which had taken place during the pandemic.

Farnborough International CEO Gareth Rogers said he was “just thrilled to actually get people out, get people speaking, get people talking because that’s what we do at Farnborough International.”

Rogers said visitor feedback from GUAAS centred on the event’s lively discussions and industry updates.. He said: “It’s been a mixture of two things really, one is great to see people face to face which I think a lot of the world is talking about but secondly the content, the vibrancy of the content, the newness of the content, the differentiation of the content and that’s again something that Farnborough International is really striving to do… It’s not just the same questions being asked but actually how do we answer those difficult questions? And that’s what GUAAS has been about today.”

FIA 2022 – first time gathering for “entire aerospace world” since Covid pandemic began

Rogers said he was looking forward to advancing the conversations with industry at the Farnborough Airshow 2022, the first in person Airshow since July 2018. “More importantly it’s probably the first time the entire aerospace world has got together,” he added. “Before that we’ve got Sustainable Skies as well and it’s really this continuation of content throughout the year but culminating in the Airshow, but also some exciting news in terms of the Aerospace Global Forum.”

Rogers added that there would be further news about the Airshow and the Aerospace Global Forum in the coming weeks. “There’s going to be some big announcements and some big exciting things happening here in Farnborough,” he said.
