The next generation of aviation leaders should channel the pioneering spirit of those who have gone before them and not let doubt or setbacks stop them from pursuing their goals, Bruce Jackson, president and managing director of Air Informatics, a security, information management and analytics company, said.

Jackson, who has represented Air Informatics during several US Department of Commerce Trade missions, attended the Farnborough International Airshow in July to discuss his illustrious aerospace career – and what the next crop of aviation talent should do to achieve their ambitions.

Jackson has worked on numerous projects with the largest and most influential companies and individuals in the aviation industry, and was the consultant called in by Boeing Commercial Aircraft Group to provide technical and business development services for the 787 e-Enabled Crew and Terminal Wireless Local Area Network systems.

‘Don’t let anything get in your way’

Asked what advice he would give to the next generation of people wanting to get into the industry, Jackson said: Just do it. Don’t let anything get in your way. There is always another solution.

“When you’re solving a problem, realise the only thing you really need to do is know the next step, because you will figure out the next one after that. I think you should use your own experience to your advantage.”
