ADS Group to highlight SC21 programme at FIA 2024
ADS Group will be highlighting its SC21 programme at the Farnborough International Airshow 2024 with a series of awards and demonstrations of some of its tools on the Thursday.
Programme director Colin Hart said since its launch in 2006, more than 1,000 companies ranging from SMEs to some of the biggest names in aviation and defence have improved their performance by undertaking the programme.
And while there are four key areas to the programme – ESG, innovation, digitisation and competitiveness – Hart said it has evolved to meet the changing demands of the aviation and defence industry.
He added: “There are multiple challenges on the supply chain: not only do we need to deliver on time and [maintain] the quality but we now need to think about the environment, the social impact and the ethical sourcing of products
“We’ve been developing the programme over the years to incorporate those aspects.”
Hart said the free programme starts with an online assessment allowing companies to benchmark where they are.
“That allows you to establish where you are starting from and from there you set your own targets and time scales to meet requirements,” he added.
Hart said companies using the tool can focus on areas for particular improvement at their own convenience.
“They can plot their journey at their own pace in terms of what they need to do to improve their business and for their customers.”
Hart added the SC21 team will be at the airshow for the week, appearing on various company stands to give gold, silver and bronze awards to participants of the scheme.
He said Thursday will also see the team members demonstrating some of the baseline assessment tools before ending the day with a drinks reception.
