VoltAero readies production of its Cassio aircraft
VoltAero has marked the opening of its final assembly facility and headquarters at Rochefort Airport, a significant milestone toward certifying and producing its Cassio electric-hybrid aircraft family.
Situated in Saint Agnant, Charente-Maritime, within France’s Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, the 2,400-square-metre facility will serve as the main production and delivery centre for Cassio aircraft.
It houses VoltAero’s design, engineering, flight test, and administrative teams and is capable of assembling up to 150 aircraft annually, with plans to establish additional production sites in key markets globally to meet future demand.
Jean Botti, the company’s CEO and CTO, said: “We are addressing the highly important market requirement to connect thousands of communities and regions around the world with truly sustainable and efficient advanced regional air mobility – while remaining fully compatible with the airport and air traffic control infrastructure.
“Additionally, our patented electric-hybrid propulsion system for Cassio provides the dual-source power to fly safely, and is based on electric battery technology that is available today.”
