Virgin Atlantic has announced a new codeshare partnership with EL AL, meaning the former will now resume flights between London Heathrow and Israel’s Tel Aviv for the first time since 11 October 2023.

“Our return to Tel Aviv on 5 September will be welcome news for customers who have enjoyed our service since 2019, and this time round it’ll be strengthened by our new codeshare partnership with El Al,” commented chief commercial officer of Virgin Atlantic Juha Jarvinen. Flights to Tel Aviv will operate daily on board the airline’s A330 aircraft, offering connection through Heathrow to 14 US destinations on 33 daily flights.

Additionally, a new codeshare partnership between Virgin Atlantic and EL AL will allow customers “greater flexibility, frequencies with up to four daily flights, and choice when selecting travel between the UK and Israel”. Passengers will also be able to benefit from reciprocal earn and redemption opportunities for each airline’s respective loyalty points programme.

Virgin Atlantic has also announced a new codeshare with SkyTeam partners SAS Scandinavian Airlines and Saudia, with Jarvien commenting: “As we celebrate our 40th anniversary this month, we know that giving our customers more choice and award-winning service in the skies is what fuels our success, alongside working with the best partners”.
