US airports could become a bit easier to navigate after seven signed up to a new security programme.
The TSA PreCheck scheme allows members to keep shoes, belts and light jackets on through the security checkpoint while also keeping electronics and 3-1-1 compliant liquids in carry-on bags.
Members typically get through security screening much faster, with about 99% of members waiting less than 10 minutes at airport checkpoints nationwide.
Now Clear, which enrols travellers to the scheme, has announced it is opening sites in seven new airports, making a total of 27 TSA PreCheck enrolment locations open across the US.
The airports are Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, Denver International Airport, Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, Rhode Island TF Green International Airport, San Jose Mineta International Airport and Luis Munoz Marín International Airport.
Clear CEO Caryn Seidman-Becker said: “TSA PreCheck with enrolment by Clear provides a fast and efficient airport experience.
“This is a win-win for US travellers who will have access to more enrolment locations, expanded hours and other benefits.”
