October 3, 2024
SAS has announced the first new routes to increase its domestic capacity with new partner Braathens Regional Airways, with services to three additional destinations starting in January 2025.
Under a long-term wet lease partnership announced last month, Braathens Regional Airways will operate several aircraft on SAS, providing key capacity on routes within Sweden. “Building from Arlanda Airport, this partnership strengthens Swedish infrastructure, connecting local communities to the world and fostering greater global accessibility and opportunities,” said SAS president and CEO Anko van der Werff.
From 27 January, Braathens Regional Airways will operate new routes to Halmstad, Kalmar and Sälen. “We look forward to continue closely collaborating with local airports and regional partners to ensure the success of these routes,” van der Werff added.
Frequencies of five existing services also operating out of Arlanda airport will be increased, including to Malmö, Ängleorm-Helsinborg, Ronneby and Göteborg. Existing flights to Visby will also see a 389% increase in frequency, rising from nine services a week in March 2024 to 44 in March 2025.
