Paris Air Show day 4 roundup: Airbus is all done, ATR and Deutsche look to the future

Day four dawned hotter even than the previous three days.
Orders for aircraft were definitely lighter today, although some important announcements were made.

Air Tahiti will fly all-business class ATR-72
Air Tahiti is set to become the first scheduled airline to operate ATR’s luxurious all-business class cabin.
The HighLine cabin, unveiled just over a year ago, features a more spacious experience thanks to the removal of the overhead bins. Air Tahiti has decided on all-business class with the beautiful wide reclining seats for its domestic flights.

The cabin will be installed on one of its already-ordered ATR 72-600s and is set to be delivered by the end of 2026.
Deutsche Aircraft picks final supplier for D328eco ahead of serial production
Deutsche Aircraft, makers of the advanced regional aircraft the D328eco, has selected Aernnova as the supplier of its empennage.
The announcement of the onboarding of the supplier was made on the fourth day of the Paris Air Show, just weeks after Deutsche Aircraft rolled out the D328eco for the first time.
ATR steps up efforts to achieve 100% SAF capability
French regional aircraft manufacturer ATR has agreed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ATOBA Energy to accelerate sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) adoption for ATR operators.
With SAF is one of the most effective tools to reducing carbon, Nathalie Tarnuad Laude, CEO of ATR, said it will play a central role in ATR’s long-term environmental strategy.
MagniX powers up the future with next-gen battery tech
Technology firm MagniX is progressing the certification of its Samson battery after unveiling a new higher-energy-density battery powered by a 400Wh/kg cell.
“We spent nearly two years trying to find the right partner and testing cells,” Riona Armesmith, CTO at MagniX told Aerospace Global News. Eventually the company decided to develop the cells themselves.
France intends to purchase Saab’s GlobalEye
France has formally announced its intention to acquire Saab’s GlobalEye Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft.

The French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA) signed a declaration of intent with Saab during Paris Air Show on Wednesday 18 June. The declaration outlines plans to procure two GlobalEye aircraft, with options for an additional two.
Airbus finishes the show with $21 billion in aircraft orders
Airbus has had a week of deals and announcements, but has declared ‘that’s all folks’ this afternoon.
In all, the European planemaker hit almost $21 billion in deals and contracts signed at the show, making a highly successful week. $14.2 billion of these were firm orders, while another $6.7 billion is currently under memorandums of understandings.
