Malaysia Airlines and Uzbekistan Airways have reintroduced their codeshare agreement, a strategic move that broadens connectivity between Southeast Asia and Central Asia, providing new travel opportunities for passengers across both regions.

Under the reinstated arrangement, Malaysia Airlines will place its “MH” flight code on Uzbekistan Airways’ Tashkent–Kuala Lumpur route, marking the carrier’s debut into Central Asia.

The development offers Malaysia Airlines passengers direct access to Uzbekistan’s capital, strengthening Malaysia Airlines’ global network and meeting growing interest in the region.

In turn, Uzbekistan Airways will extend its presence in Southeast Asia by placing its “HY” flight code on select Malaysia Airlines routes.

These include popular holiday destinations such as Langkawi and Kota Kinabalu, reached via a transit in Kuala Lumpur.

The codeshare agreement offers practical benefits for passengers, including the convenience of checking baggage through to their final destination, optimised flight schedules, and reduced layover times.
