LOT Polish Airlines and Lufthansa Technik have signed a new engine maintenance service contract for the airline’s 737NG CFM56-7B engines, with the MRO provider to also offer an additional two engines on lease.

The agreement extends existing collaboration between the two parties, with Lufthansa Technik overhauling the first 787 for LOT in Malta in April. A subsequent eleven planned overhauls will be performed at Lufthansa Technik’s headquarters in Hamburg.

“After the successful start of our relatively new cooperation, we are convinced that Lufthansa Technik’s technical expertise – also in the field of engine maintenance – will further enhance our operational stability for the coming years,” said Dorota Dmuchowska, COO at LOT Polish Airlines. In an effort to support ongoing operational stability, the airline will be provided with two lease engines while its own undergo maintenance.

“It’s not just the crane in our company logos that unites us, but the striving for excellence,” added Kai-Stefan Roepke, senior vice president corporate sales EMEA at Lufthansa Technik. “The new contract marks another important milestone in our collaboration and demonstrates that our customers benefit significantly from our commitment to first-class engine MRO services”.
