LORD Corporation, a global diversified technology and manufacturing company, has achieved $1 billion (£0.78 billion) in sales.

Ed Auslander, President and CEO, LORD Corporation, said: “Becoming a $1 billion company is a significant milestone for LORD. But this is just the beginning of making the impossible real for our customers.”

LORD, which was launched 95 years ago, began as a small family business. It is now a global enterprise with more than 3,000 employees in 26 countries.

The company has seen growth in industries such as aerospace, automotive, oil & gas and industrial.

In the aerospace and defence sector, LORD products include fixed-wing aircraft such an engine attach systems, fly-by-wire technologies and actuation and sensing systems.

“LORD had a momentous year in 2018,” shared Auslander. “Not only did we win our biggest contract in company history with Boeing; we also celebrated growth across the globe, including an $80 million investment to expand our Saegertown, Pa. facility and the opening of a $12 million state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Pont de l’Isère, France.”
