This week’s long-haul flight schedule changes from Europe: What you need to know
November 8, 2025
There are far fewer schedule updates this week on Europe’s long-haul network. As summer schedules have largely been published and preparation for winter next year still ongoing, this is not surprising. Nevertheless, many of the changes are significant, especially when it comes to Asia and South America.
Air France has filed a significant change to its Manila operation, suspending the route for Summer 2026.
Elsewhere, flights to South America are on the rise. LATAM has planned some fairly significant expansion into Europe, with additional frequencies across several of its routes to Spain and Italy. Finally, in Africa, Air Senegal has decided to launch a six-hour Airbus A320 flight to Brussels from its Dakar hub.

6 hours on an Airbus A320: Air Senegal adds Brussels flights
Air Senegal announced earlier this week on social media that it would be introducing a new route between Dakar and Brussels. It will compete with Brussels Airlines which flies daily on an Airbus A330.
Air Senegal’s new flights have been filed to Cirium. Initially, it was not clear which aircraft the carrier would be using for the route, as its Airbus A330neos are currently out of service. Its only other long-haul route, which connects Dakar to Paris, operates with a leased Boeing 777.
Filings to Cirium show that an Airbus A320 has been scheduled to fly the route. This has also been reflected in booking engines. It will fly with the following flight times.
Air Senegal Dakar ⇄ Brussels
Scheduled flight times for Air Senegal’s service between Dakar and Brussels.
| Route | Flight Times |
|---|---|
| Dakar → Brussels | 00:15 – 07:15 |

Based on Air Senegal’s published timetable
According to its booking website, it will offer connections to Abidjan, Bamako, Banjul, Cap Skirring and Conakry. It offers at least two pieces of checked baggage on its flights as well as a 12 kilogram carry-on bag.
It took delivery of a third leased Airbus A320 last month from Getjet Airlines which will be used to serve the route. It is configured with 138 seats in economy class and 12 in business.

Air Astana suspends flights between Frankfurt and Almaty
Air Astana’s route between Frankfurt and Almaty will be suspended for the summer season. The last flight will operate on March 26, according to Cirium schedule filings and confirmed from the carrier’s booking engine.
The route is operated with the airline’s Airbus A321neo fleet, three times per week on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

Lufthansa will resume its Frankfurt to Almaty connection on 29 March, which it had suspended for the winter season due to an aircraft shortage.
In the meantime, Air Astana launched flights on the route in June 2025. Initially this was alongside Lufthansa and alone from the end of October. It is worth noting that after flights end, Air Astana’s flight offer between the two cities routes via Astana.
LATAM files increases on European routes
LATAM Airlines has decided to increase flying to Europe for summer 2026. The airline has scheduled increases to both Spain and Italy, the former being its core European market.

Information from Cirium schedules data
Reinforcing its competitive position between the two continents, the carrier has increased flying between Barcelona, Madrid and Rome to Sao Paulo and Madrid to Santiago de Chile.
Most of these routes saw the same schedule last year as well, just not for the entire season. The additional frequencies were concentrated in June, July and August.
