Korean Air has introduced “Dive into K-style”, a cultural immersion programme designed for its new international flight attendants.

The initiative offers new hires an opportunity to experience Korean culture, values, and the airlines’s corporate culture through various activities.

This year, Korean Air is conducting three culture programmes for its new international crew members. In August, new Japanese flight attendants visited a Korean traditional culture and etiquette center in Incheon, where they participated in making traditional Korean tea and sweets.

In early October, flight attendants from Southeast Asia took part in a programme at Namsangol Hanok Village in Seoul, where they learned about Korean customs, experienced a traditional tea ceremony, explored historical architecture, and enjoyed various dishes such as buchujeon (chive pancakes), kimchi jjim (braised kimchi), and bossam (napa wraps with steamed pork).

A similar programme is scheduled for new crew members from China in December.

Korean Air resumed its international cabin crew recruitment this year after a four-year hiatus, welcoming 85 new hires from Japan, Thailand, Malaysia and China. A fourth recruitment phase is currently underway, with new hires expected to join in December. The airline aims to recruit an additional 200 more international flight attendants next year.
