Hamad Airport completes next phase of expansion

Hamad International Airport (DOH) has officially opened Concourse E, marking a significant milestone in its latest terminal expansion programme.
The new concourse is designed to enhance passenger experience by improving boarding efficiency, reducing reliance on remote gates and buses, and incorporating accessibility and sustainability-focused features.
The expansion adds 51,000 square metres of space to the airport, introducing eight new contact gates. This represents a 20% increase in overall gate capacity, allowing for faster boarding and improved operational efficiency.
Hamad International Airport has also announced that further developments, including the expansion of Concourse D, will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
Concourse E features advanced self-boarding technology, streamlining the travel process by automatically scanning passengers’ boarding passes for a smoother journey.
The concourse integrates universal design principles, featuring hearing loops, ramps, elevators, and spacious seating areas to accommodate passengers with disabilities.
A variety of seating options with built-in power outlets have been installed to maximise passenger comfort.
Additionally, the concourse incorporates energy-efficient systems, innovative water management solutions, and optimised thermal comfort, reinforcing the airport’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
