British Airways and Ryanair are to offer new routes from London Stansted later this year, with the two carriers serving five European destinations.

After returning to Stansted earlier this year, British Airways has commenced flights to Split, Croatia, onboard its Embraer 190. The service will run weekly. Neringa Ohrstrom, head of brand and marketing at London Stansted, commented: “We understand the importance of providing our customers with a diverse range of destinations to choose from, and these new flights will do just that”.

Additionally, Ryanair (Stansted’s largest airline) will expand its network with four new winter destinations, including a twice-weekly service to Linz in Austria from October– the first direct flight to the location from the UK. A twice-weekly service to Reggio, Italy will also operate from October.

In November, Ryanair will also commence flights to Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina three times a week, and twice-weekly services to Dubrovnik, Croatia.
