Embraer business jet deliveries bolster strong first quarter performance

April 23, 2025

Embraer has reached a record-high Q1 backlog of $26.4 billion, surpassing an all-time high set in the previous quarter, with its executive jet business segment also setting a new backlog record of $7.6 billion.
Having delivered 30 aircraft in Q1 2025 (20% higher than Q1 2024), this figure corresponds to 13% of the midpoint for Embraer’s full-year guidance; slightly ahead of the five-year average of 11%. However, the company still has some way to go to reach its previously stated target of between 222 and 240 units for the full year.
23 of these units delivered were business jets, with four E175s and three E195-E2s also shipped. The commercial aircraft business unit’s performance was slightly below expectations and “reflected ongoing supply chain challenges,” noted Embraer, which added it was also unable to deliver two additional aircraft “because of commercial issues”. However, the airframer expects its “production levelling efforts to produce more tangible results in Q2 25, the second half of the year, and from the start of 2026”. Embraer’s total firm backlog currently stands at 336.
Executive aviation, however, delivered 28% more units that the 18 jets shipped in Q1 2024, with the Phenom 300 series again recognised by the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) as the most delivered light jet for the thirteenth consecutive year.
Within the defence and security segment (enjoying the highest backlog rise year on year, at 73%), Embraer has 32 firm orders for the KC-390 Millennium yet to deliver – a figure not including the aircraft selected by Sweden (four) and Slovakia (three). 12 and four A-29 Super Tucanos for Portugal and Panama respectively are also not included in a firm order backlog of 22.
In February this year, Embraer CEO Francisco Gomes Neto stated that the company was “well-positioned for continued growth in 2025 and beyond,” expecting to deliver up to 85 commercial aircraft and 155 executive jets within the year (an overall increase of 18% vs the full year 2024).
