Since entering service just over a year ago in April 2024, Gulfstream has seen demand for the G700 grow at a steady pace with its 50th customer delivery taking place earlier this month. The business jet has a price tag of around $75 million.

According to Gulfstream’s president, Mark Burns, the aircraft is exceeding customer expectations, as he noted that “reaching 50 deliveries at this stage in the programme is testament to its unparalleled maturity and the quality of our advanced manufacturing and outfitting techniques.”

Originally expected to be certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and rolled out in 2023, Burns described the certification of the G700 as  the “most rigorous certification programme in company history.” By the end of 2023 Gulfstream reportedly had more than 30 G700s nearly ready for delivery. FAA certification was achieved at the end of March 2024 with approval by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) around a month later. When the first customer deliveries were made in April 2024, Burns said at the time, “beginning G700 customer deliveries less than one month after achieving FAA type certification marks an incredible milestone in Gulfstream’s history of raising the bar for the business aviation industry.”

Equipped with Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines, the G700 is capable of flying 7,750 nm at Mach 0.85 or 6,650nm at Mach 0.90. Globally, the fleet has accumulated more than 11,700 flight hours and has achieved more than 80 city pair speed records.

Inside, the spacious cabin offers a flexible layout and can be fitted out with up to five living areas, including the industry’s only “ultragalley” and a grand suite with fixed bed and shower. New owners can tailor everything from the upholstery and floor plan to the trim and the livery can be tailored.

While the latest customer remains unnamed, one of the biggest customers of the G700 is Qatar Executive, which currently has seven of the business jets.

Earlier this month Gulfstream also unveiled its revamped Sales and Design Centre in London, one of three design studios with the other two in Savannah, New York and Beverly Hills, California. In addition to a full-size G400 mock-up the London studio features a G700 and G800 mock-up as well as G500 and G600 seats to try out and cabinets filled with fabric samples, veneers, dishware, carpets and furnishings.
