Cessna and Beechcraft special mission aircraft take centre stage at DSEI 2025

Textron Aviation is putting the spotlight on its broad Cessna and Beechcraft special mission aircraft portfolio at DSEI London, underscoring how proven civilian platforms have been transformed into versatile solutions for defence, government and humanitarian customers worldwide.
The company is promoting the flexibility, endurance and affordability of its modified aircraft, highlighting how Cessna and Beechcraft types have been adapted for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), maritime patrol, air ambulance, training and utility transport missions.

Citation series for surveillance and patrol
At the top end of the range, Textron is showcasing its Cessna Citation jets, adapted as special mission platforms.
Configurations include ISR and maritime patrol, with long endurance, radome options, EO/IR sensors, and mission interiors to suit border security, coastal surveillance and VIP government transport roles.
The company stresses that the Citation range offers jet-speed response with the flexibility to install advanced mission systems without compromising comfort or range.
Beechcraft King Air family: The workhorse
The centrepiece of Textron’s campaign is the Beechcraft King Air line. Already in service with dozens of military and government operators, the aircraft is offered in ISR, air ambulance, utility and training configurations.
The King Air 360ER provides extended range and payload for multi-mission roles, while the King Air 260 is marketed as a reliable, affordable twin-turboprop capable of supporting surveillance, medevac or training.
Textron emphasises its long record of proven performance, ruggedness and adaptability, the qualities that continue to make the King Air family one of the world’s most widely used special mission aircraft.
Cessna Caravan for rugged utility
Textron is also promoting its Cessna Caravan and Grand Caravan EX, workhorses pitched for missions in austere environments.
Configurable for cargo, medevac or passenger transport, the Caravan is an affordable solution for governments and NGOs operating in remote regions.
Its simplicity, low cost of operation and short-field performance make it a staple for humanitarian relief, border patrol and utility tasks, a company official said.
