The Ministry of Defence of Brunei has signed an order for six H145Ms with Airbus Helicopters, which will be used to enhance the air force’s operational capabilities including in the close air support and aerial observation roles.

The new aircraft – which will replace Brunei’s ageing Bolkow  BO105 fleet from 2026– is powered by two Turbomeca Arriel 2E engines, equipped with full authority digital engine control (FADEC), and the Helionix digital avionics suite. “The H145M is well regarded for its high performance and versatility, and we are confident that it will bring a step change in operational readiness to Brunei,” commented Bruno Even, CEO of Airbus Helicpters.

To date, the H145M has accumulated over seven million flight hours to date across a variety of missions. Brunei’s acquisition of the H145M follows earlier orders from Cyprus, Hungary, Luxembourg, Serbia and Thailand. In December 2023, Germany also placed the largest single order for the H145 to date with the purchase of up 10 82 units (62 firm orders plus 20 options).
