Bombardier Global 8000 advances to 2025 EIS with Transport Canada certification
November 6, 2025
Canada’s Bombardier has announced that the Global 8000 has received Transport Canada Type Certification, advancing the program towards its entry into service later this year. The company expects Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification to follow in keeping with delivery requirements.

“Bombardier has worked rigorously and collaboratively with Transport Canada toward certification for the Global 8000,” said Stephen McCullough, Senior Vice President, Engineering and Product Development, Bombardier. “This marks a pivotal milestone for Bombardier, our customers and the entire business aviation industry – solidifying the Global 8000’s position as the unrivalled leader setting a new standard.”
Certification follows Global 8000 supersonic testing
The Global 8000’s production launched in October of last year. The jet entered the final assembly line in April of this year, and it completed its maiden flight in May. The Transport Canada certification milestone follows the Global 8000 business jet’s supersonic testing, which achieved a new top speed of Mach 0.95.

“This milestone is a powerful testament to the exceptional talent and dedication of our engineering, test and production teams,” McCullough said.
Bombardier Global 8000 achieves the lowest cabin altitude on a business jet
The aircraft has also set a new industry benchmark for cabin altitude – 2,691 ft. at 41,000 ft., the lowest of any business aircraft produced to date.

“The ultimate comfort in the sky is feeling like you’re at home. We have focused heavily on elevating the passenger experience, imperative priorities for ultra-long-range travel. With this industry benchmark for reduced cabin altitude, along with numerous other design features, we help passengers have the most comfortable in-flight experiences in the industry,” McCullough said.
Bombardier also touts the wellness benefits of its Pũr Air system (with HEPA filtration and VOC removal) and the Soleil circadian lighting system, which helps combat jet lag.
An 8,000 NM range and a luxurious ride
Its 8,000-NM range makes it the longest-range business jet of its size, enabling nonstop travel to more cities. The aircraft still retains a high level of agility, with takeoff (5,760 ft) and landing (2,220 ft) performance comparable to that of a light jet.

The advanced wing design, featuring a leading-edge slat, enables customers to fly to 30% more airports (2,000 more destinations) than its closest competitor.
In terms of interior design, the Global 8000 aircraft sets high standards for luxury and comfort. It will feature four living spaces and a separate crew rest area, as well as the longest seated length in its class.

The aircraft features Bombardier’s exclusive Nuage seat, offering a zero-gravity seating position to reduce the physical impact of long flights.

Combined with the cabin’s wellness features, including the lowest cabin altitude, the Global 8000 intensifies the competition for passenger experience enhancements in this jet class.
How the Global 8000 compares to other business jets in its class
| Aircraft | Cabin zones | Cabin altitude @ FL410 | Range (nm) | Top speed (Mach) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bombardier Global 8000 | 4 living spaces + crew rest | 2,691 ft | 8,000 | 0.95 |
| Gulfstream G800 | Up to 4 living areas | 2,840 ft | 8,200 | 0.935 |
| Gulfstream G700 | Up to 5 living areas | 2,840 ft | 7,750 | 0.935 |
| Dassault Falcon 10X | 4 configurable zones | 3,000 ft | 7,500 | 0.925 |
| Bombardier Global 7500 | 4 living spaces | 2,900 ft* | 7,700 | 0.925 |
