Boeing’s presence at the upcoming Farnborough International Airshow will be adapted to “prioritise factory safety and quality,” the company has stated, with a reduced commercial presence nevertheless augmented by military and UAM aircraft on display.

“We are concentrating on implementing our comprehensive safety and quality plan and meeting our customer commitments. With these priorities in mind, we have reduced our commercial airplanes display and flight demonstrations at the show, and will focus on new technology, sustainability, security and services solutions,” commented Dr Brendan Nelson, president of Boeing Global.

Although the US manufacturer not be bringing any commercial aircraft to the show (unlike previous years), it will nevertheless have its 777 interior cabin mockup on display; highlighting the model’s “wider cabin, larger windows and spacious architecture”.

Sustainability technologies (including the X-66 Sustainable Flight Demonstrator, Boeing ecoDemonstrator and Cascade data visualisation  tool) will also be in the spotlight, testament to Boeing’s ongoing commitment to decarbonisation initiatives – as will Wisk Aero, a wholly-owned Boeing subsidiary, which will exhibit its Generation 6 aircraft.

Augmenting Boeing Defense’s products and services on display will be a F-15QA fighter jet participating in the flying display, with two differently configured aircraft performing aerial demonstrations.
