May 23, 2025

Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM) has appointed ADB Safegate to supply and install control towr systems and equipment at the greenfield Long Thanh International Airport.
The airport, which is currently undergoing construction in the southern province of Dong Nai, was originally slated for completion later this year, but is now due to commence operations by the end of 2026.
When this first phase of construction is complete the airport will feature two runways. A further two runways are planned during phases two and three of construction. Described as the most ambitious infrastructure project in Vietnam in the last decade, the airport will be capable of accommodating up to 100 million passengers per year once all three phases are complete.
Awarded by Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), the agreement will see ADB Safegate supply and install air traffic control tower systems and equipment, including A SMGCS and related subsystems such as surveillance sensors to ensure safety, interoperability and operational efficiency.
ADB Safegate will also be tasked with implementing its One Control Integrated Controller Working Position (ICWP) – a modular platform that simplifies complex ATC operations and enables seamless tower control. “The implementation of OneControl will see VATM “receive a comprehensive solution capable of safely and efficiently managing complex operational demands both I approach and on the ground,” said Gonzalo Moreno Munoz, VP Tower Business at ADB Safegate.
