A321MPA reported to have won the PATMAR Future competition
Only hours after being unveiled to the world, the Airbus A321MPA is being reported to have won the French Navy competition for a replacement for its ageing Dassault Atlantique 2 maritime patrol and anti-submarine warfare aircraft.

On 7 November respected French newspaper La Tribune reported that the French ministry of defence has chosen the Airbus Defence and Space A321MPA proposal to meet its PATMAR Future (future maritime patrol aircraft) requirement. This A321XLR-based Dassault Atlantique 2 (ATL2) replacement has reportedly won out over the Falcon X based proposal offered by Dassault.
The A321MPA concept was first unveiled at the Euronaval 2024 defence exhibition on 5 November.
