A321LR central to ten new routes revealed by Etihad

Ten new destinations for Etihad – its largest ever route expansion announcement in a single day – will see the UAE national carrier reach more than 90 destinations in 2025. This builds on September 2024’s total of 83 destinations, a figure up 11 from a year prior.

Etihad 10 new routes

Etihad’s firm eye on expansion has been bolstered by the announcement of ten new routes to commence from July 2025, supporting the carrier’s ambition in bringing over a million visitors to its home base of UAE capital Abu Dhabi. Many of the routes will be served by the airline’s new A321LRs, which the carrier expects to begin taking delivery of early next year; capable of flying routes of up to 4,000nm.

Complementing previously revealed new destinations for 2025 (including Prague, Warsaw and Al Alamein), the latest wave of expansion is predominately centred on Asian and North African cities, with the exception of the US state capital Georgia. In collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi, more guests will also be able to take advantage of Etihad’s free stopover offer.

“Launching ten new destinations in a single day underscores our unwavering commitment to growing our airline with a fantastic route network and world-class, customer-focused service,” commented Etihad Aviation Group chief executive officer Antonoaldo Neves, who added that the expansion was supported by Etihad’s Zayed International Airport hub; offering “ample space to accommodate [the airline’s] rapid growth”.

As of October 2024, Etihad’s rolling 12-month passenger count reached nearly 18 million; marking an increase of nearly 80% compared to 2022 and “underscoring the pace of our growth over the past two years,” explained Neves.
